Rumi
Rumi (1207–1273) was a 13th-century poet and mystic. Born during the Khwarazmian Empire, he is celebrated globally. Rumi's works were written mostly in Persian. He occasionally used other languages like Turkish and Arabic. His Masnavi is considered one of the greatest poems in the Persian language. Rumi's influence transcends national and ethnic divisions.
