"The words of language, as they are..." - Quote by Albert Einstein
The words of language, as they are written or spoken, do not seem to play any role in my mechanism of thought. The physical entities which seem to serve as elements in thought are certain signs and more or less clear images.

“Out yonder there is this huge world, which exists independently of us human beings and which stands before us like a great, eternal riddle, at least partially accessible to our inspection and thinking”
More on Thought
“Consciousness... does not appear to itself chopped up in bits. Such words as 'chain' or 'train' do not describe it fitly as it presents itself in the first instance. It is nothing jointed; it flows. A 'river' or a 'stream' are the metaphors by which it is most naturally described. In talking of it hereafter, let us call it the stream of thought, of consciousness, or of subjective life. Source of the expression 'stream of consciousness'.”
“One who is caught in thought loses one's original nature. All he knows are words and descriptions. When he sees the actual thing, he fails to perceive it.”
“Because people have no thoughts to deal in, they deal cards, and try and win one another's money. Idiots!”
More on Mind
“Physical excellence does not of itself produce a good mind and character: on the other hand, excellence of mind and character will make the best of the physique it is given.”
“Not to be able to stop thinking is an affliction, but we don't realise this because almost everybody is suffering from it.”
“Become totally emptyQuiet the restlessness of the mindOnly then will you witness everything unfolding from emptiness”
