"There are no shortcuts. I approached practices..." - Quote by Michael Jordan
There are no shortcuts. I approached practices the same way I approached games. You can't turn it on and off like a faucet. I couldn't dog it during practice and then, when I needed that extra push late in the game, expect it to be there. Very few people get anywhere by taking shortcuts.

“When I was young, I had to learn the fundamentals of basketball. You can have all the physical ability in the world, but you still have to know the fundamentals.”
“You can practice shooting eight hours a day, but if your technique is wrong, then all you become is very good at shooting the wrong way. Get the fundamentals down and the level of everything you do will rise.”
“But my drive to win is so great ... I just step over that line. ... It's very embarrassing, ... one of the things you totally regret. So you look at yourself in the mirror and say, 'I was stupid.'”

“Courage is not having the strength to go on, it is going on when you don't have the strength. Industry and determination can do anything that genius and advantage can do and many things that they cannot.”
“Everybody shut up. Let us work.”
“How many push ups do you do? I don't know. I only starts counting when it starts hurting”
More on Discipline
“The exact Quantity and Quality being found out, is to be kept to constantly.”
“All disciplines affect each other. Mistakenly the man says, `This is the only area where I let down.` Not true. Every let down affects the rest. Not to think so is naive.”
“Discipline is the foundation upon which all success is built. Lack of discipline inevitably leads to failure.”
