It is the beginning of all horror. Not just an act. But a process. When a human being is stripped of their humanity they become merely a thing. A number. An enemy. This dehumanization paves the way for the most heinous crimes. It allows us to commit the unimaginable against our fellow humans. Because we have convinced ourselves they are not our fellow humans at all. These words warn us of the gravity of this act.
