Mencius

Mencius (c. 371 – c. 289 BC) was a significant Chinese Confucian philosopher. He is often called the Second Sage. This reflects his esteem relative to Confucius. Living during the Warring States period, he traveled offering counsel to rulers. Conversations with them form the basis of the Mencius. His primary principle is that human nature is inherently good.
