Mark Twain (1835–1910) was the pen name for Samuel Langhorne Clemens. He was an American writer humorist and essayist. Twain is widely praised as one of America's greatest literary figures. His novels include The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Twain drew on his experiences as a riverboat pilot and miner. His wit and satire earned him international fame.
