Will Rogers (1879–1935) was an American vaudeville performer actor and humorist. He was also a social commentator. Born a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, he is known as "Oklahoma's Favorite Son." Rogers traveled the world and made 71 films. He wrote over 4,000 nationally syndicated newspaper columns. By the mid-1930s, he was hugely popular for his political wit. He was one of Hollywood's highest paid stars. His folksy style allowed him to poke fun without causing offense.
